Software Development Peer Mentorship Group
Target Audience:
Individuals from various software development disciplines.
Summary:
For software developers or those interested in software development as a career, gaining experience in a new area of technology can be challenging. Without having worked on a real life application project, technology professionals face challenges in demonstrating to employers that they can work in a new paradigm. In the Software Developer Peer Mentorship Group, professionals get the opportunity to work on a software project that a local institution has a need for. From requirements gathering, technology research, design, development, testing and deployment, the Peer Mentorship Group will manage all aspects of the project from concept to completion. Technology platforms will be based Java, .NET, Open Source or Cloud technologies.
Objective:
This group is specifically designed to provide software development professionals the opportunity to work on software projects to gain experience.

- Researching Platforms
- Choosing a solution
- The Software Development Process
- Managing customer expectations
- Presentation and sign off of finished application
